Attention: Jim Wood
General Manager
Jim:
You wrote to me the other day by regular mail as a follow-up, and
to thank us for purchasing a Dura-Loc roof for our new cottage/home
at Gooderham, just south of Haliburton. I wanted very much to respond,
and to thank you.
From the very beginning, we have been pleased with the efforts
of the DLD team; now, we are absolutely delighted with our new roof.
Your super salesman, Ed, was most helpful getting us started. He
patiently answered all our questions, spent oodles of time going
over details, did not pressure or rush us, and then provided the
best advice of all when helping us select colour and trim. He gave
us several addresses nearby so that we could go out and look at
how the various finished products would appear; this helped immensely
with our selection.
We experienced many delays in building because of the wet weather
this spring. It threw our schedule, and I am sure yours, as well,
far out of whack. However, by keeping in constant touch with Pete,
who was always pleasant and understanding, and by juggling dates
several times, the two of us were eventually able to set a date
that saw Charlie and the installation team arrive almost within
minutes of the promised "grand day". Charlie and his boys
worked quickly and very efficiently. Unfortunately, they ran a few
tiles short due to a miscalculation. However, they are such a nice
crew of guys that we were delighted to have them come back.
During all this time, I also spoke to others at your business:
the receptionist, yourself and more. Everyone was always polite,
courteous and very helpful.
And, so, the purpose of my note is to thank you and your staff,
as you have thanked us. I should tell you one or two more things.
When several of our contractors first heard we had ordered a 'tin
roof', they were appalled. While they understood the benefits of
steel over asphalt shingles, they didn't much care for the aesthetics
or for noise. We heard comments such as "steel roofs only belong
on barns and outhouses". Well, the Dura-Loc roof is now on
our place, and the same guys are back asking where can they buy
one for their own home. The son of the loudest detractor actually
came to me for a copy of your brochure and some idea of cost; so
you know he's seriously considering it. I hope you hear from him
if his budget allows.
We know we made the right choice simply by the number of admirers
who are pulling into our yard to have a look. All are impressed.
We could sell the place in a minute, but we want to live in it for
a long time. That's why we made the extra investment in the first
place. It sure is nice, though, to have others offering their 'stamp
of approval'.
So, thanks, again, to everyone at Dura-Loc and DLD.
Sincerely,
R. Y.
